Wm. David Metting, 64, of Yorktown, left this earth on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was born February 25, 1958, in Victoria, Texas to Wiona Marie Hahn Metting and the late James Delbert Metting, Sr.
David was proud to be the first Texas A&M Graduate in his family. He was a Master Electrician and rancher in the Yorktown area most of his life. David always enjoyed going to dances and he also liked to play pool. He will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
David is survived by mother, Wiona Metting; daughters, Eliza Metting and Erin Pollock; son, Zachary Metting; grandson, Leland Lyssy; brothers, James Metting Jr., and John Metting and wife Donna; sisters, Martha Hann and husband Roy, Marie Metting, and Elizabeth Metting and husband Mark Bouma; nieces and nephews, Tyson, Heather, Morgan, Tammy, Chris, Collin, Logan, Caitlin, Kelsey, and Hunter; cousin, Kristy Serold; good friend, Rafael Reza; his canine companion, “Lucy”; other loving family and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Ella Metting, and Fred and Anna Born Hahn; father, James Delbert Metting, Sr.
